Our Vision

We want God’s kingdom to spread throughout Muncie, Yorktown and the world as ordinary people are empowered for extraordinary living through the grace of the Gospel and through the multiplying of Gospel-centered churches.

Our Commitments

New Life Presbyterian Church is an evangelical reformed Presbyterian church. By evangelical, we mean that we are committed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ as humankind’s only hope for salvation. By reformed, we mean that we emphasize the grace of God in the Gospel, the sovereignty of God, the unity of God’s redemptive story, the work of God through the sacraments, and the authority of God in Scripture. By Presbyterian, we mean that Christ rules local congregations through a group of elders who are elected by the people and accountable to regional and national bodies. New Life’s denominational affiliation is with the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). For more detailed information on our doctrinal commitments, see the Westminster Confession of Faith.

Our Core Values

Our core values are expressed through adoration, belonging, compassion, discipleship, and evangelism. Each of these five areas is outlined below, along with references to supporting Scripture.

Adoration

Because we are worshipers by nature, we intend Sunday morning worship at New Life to be a rich encounter with the living God as we hear His Word proclaimed, partake of the sacraments, sing hymns and contemporary songs, offer prayers to God, and rejoice in the Gospel, all with an attitude of reverence and awe (Psalms 95:1-7Hebrews 12:28John 4:23).

Belonging

Because we are made in the image of a Triune God, we are designed for relationships with one another. Therefore, we want New Life to be a place where deep bonds of friendship are established, where we hold each other accountable to holy living, and where we encourage one another to persevere in our walk with Christ (Acts 2:42-47Hebrews 10:19-25John 15:12-17).

Compassion

Because God has shown compassion to us through Christ, we desire to show compassion to the church and our community through acts of service and mercy, so that the transforming power of God’s kingdom would be experienced in Yorktown, Muncie and the world (Jeremiah 29:4-7I Peter 2:12Matthew 5:13-16).

Discipleship

Because we are transformed by the Gospel, we want New Life to be a place where we learn intensively about God’s Word and its instructions for how we are to live in today’s world. Therefore, we diligently study the Scriptures, with the help of Reformed theology, so we may grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:182 Timothy 3:16Matthew 28:19-20).

Evangelism

Because the Gospel has the power to change lives, we are eager to share the good news with others, boldly calling them to faith in Jesus Christ, yet with gentleness and respect, in hopes that many may come to know the joy of salvation in Christ (I Peter 3:15Romans 10:14Acts 1:8).
